A Few Words About the Captain
Captain Dave DeNorcy is a full time professional
guide with 24 years experience on the West Coast of
Florida, from Tarpon Springs to Boca Grande,
including Tampa Bay. Capt. Dave has spent a lifetime
gaining the knowledge and experience to ensure that
you have a memorable day fishing. Anglers of all
skill levels are welcome. The beginning as well as
the accomplished angler will find the experience
challenging and rewarding. Capt. Dave especially
loves introducing youngsters to the sport of fishing.
Capt. Dave encourages his clients to get involved
with all aspects of fishing, from catching bait to
rigging tackle. He finds that people have a much
better time when the Captain takes time to involve
them. He also wants his clients to understand the
techniques being applied during the fishing, from
where to find fish to the best methods to work a
particular lure to entice a strike.
Capt. Dave fishes the backcountry, flats, inshore and
offshore with light tackle, all aboard a custom built
23' Dorado tower boat, fully rigged and powered by a
Mercury 225 Optimax. The Dorado will float in
10" of water to pursue Redfish and Snook on the
flats or to run offshore to catch Grouper and
Kingfish in the Gulf of Mexico.
Capt. Dave offers both half- and full-day trips for
up to four anglers. Night fishing is available in the
summer months for Trophy Snook and Tarpon. All bait,
tackle, rods & reels, ice, and fishing licenses
are provided. It is recommended, however, that you
come prepared with polarized sunglasses for your
added viewing enjoyment, since most of the flats
fishing is done in very clear water areas, especially
in the winter and spring. The polarized glasses will
allow for better sighting of fish and underwater
structures, increasing your fishing enjoyment
tenfold.
Capt. Dave is a member of the Inshore Anglers
Association, Mercury Saltwater Team, and fishes the
Ranger / Mercury Pro Redfish circuit with close
friend and expert angler Chris Castonguay of
Seminole, Florida.
Capt. Dave is also one of the instructors for S&I
Charter's Fishing School, teaching students the many
skills he has learned over the years, from locating
and catching bait and game fish to tackle selection,
moon phases, and tides.
Whatever your fishing needs, Capt. Dave is sure to
fit the bill with plenty of fishing know-how along
with lots of personality and charm. Give him a call
SOON!!
