A Few Words About The Captain
Fish Florida's Nature Coast with Capt Howie Green.
the Homosassa area flats and back country are a
pristine part of the state. Wildlife abounds;
manatees, dolphins, and birds can be seen and the
fishing is great!
People who have fished the more populated areas
Florida love fishing around Homosassa. the comment
most heard is, "I love being able to fish and
not look at big buildings all over". Not only is
the scenery beautiful, but the boat traffic is very
light and almost non-existent on weekdays.
All the fisherman needs to bring to make the
experience more enjoyable is something to snack on,
plenty to drink, sun screen, a hat, and sun glasses.
While redfish, trout and grouper are available
year-round, some fish are seasonal. The much sought
after tarpon is most abundant from late April through
June. People come to Homosassa from all over the
world at this time to try for a monster silver king
and maybe a world record. Capt. Green uses both
medium light spinning tackle and fly tackle for these
giants.
Capt. Green is a full time guide, licensed by the
Coast Guard, and fully insured. He is a retired
police officer who has fished all his life - the last
11 years in the Homosassa area. A trip with Capt.
Green will be first class and much less expensive
than other guides in the area. Hi boat tackle and
experience is first rate!
