Cool weather means the bigger grouper start moving into Tampa Bay waters. Start freezing some of those greenback sardines for next month to use as chum, look for rocky bottom along the edges of the ships channel try starting with cut dead bait and once the bite turn to live pinfish if you can get some if not try using fresh Spanish sardines cut in half with a 4/0 circle hook and 1-ounce sinkers adjust according to current.

Its not easy to catch them in this windy weather the secret pick your area and fish from shore. This North/NE winds give us lower than normal tides and makes for perfect wade fishing, start early with artificial baits, one of my best has been strips of Fishbites either crab or shrimp scent sitting on the bottom using a number 3 split shot.

Good way to get your fishing in and staying safe.

Tight lines. Capt. Sergio
